1. This is the A6, because... 2. Slightly further down you arrive here... Not only is the sign on the left fallen off, but that diddy road is neither the A374 or A38 which it implies. Also, what's going on with the rectangular one on the right? This way for the A388. Err... yeah Not the A388 as the sign suggests, also, what's going on with the patching seeing as the A388, when you get to it, is also primary. Not dodgy, but nice blend of old with the pre-Warboys sign and the new one below. That castle logo is WAY TOO BIG A5023? It's the B5023 What is that? The font is wrong and the backing colour is not grey or yellow making that sign totally unenforceable.

Advance apologies for the artwork! A brief map of the area with photo locations etc. 01. Approaching the limited access zone, this is just approaching the Parliament St and Glasshouse St junction. The bus I had just got off is just in front of the photo - I actually beat it to BK which isn't bad seeing as my phone was acting up (not wanting to take photos, backlight turning off etc) and of course I was taking photos along the way. The fact it had a bus full of chavy school kids to unload is, well, beside the point :D 02. This is the last place where you can turn off before entering the new restrictions. Apart from buses, cycles, taxis the only other traffic that can enter is for legitimate access to premises. Bus to Southwell going the other way - it's normally a bit far for a 20 minute daytime service, but hey, it's quite useful :) 03. Going past Victoria Centre along the new bus stops 04. View looking up Parliament Street to the Milton Street junction. Previously the road up past BK used to be one way and 4 lane but now is S2, before this used to be S4 and 2-way. 05. Another view of the junction, this time looking up Milton Street, again used to be four lane and one-way heading towards the junction. 06. Further up, past the Milton Street junction yet again a no27 negotiating a zebra crossing - presumed incorrectly as per. 07. Approaching Theatre Square one of the new unilink buses (sadly 18 months too late for me) negotiates the zebra on the exit point. 08. The very same unilink bus preparing to give way to all the traffic passing the theatre and cornerhouse complex 09. A view of the same junction (with South Sherwood St) from a slightly different angle. The new building in the background is the cornerhouse complex - cinemas, restaurants, and up until it lost its licence the infamous Works nightclub. 10. Halfway up Milton Street opposite the old car park and John Lewis. This photo was taken at the edge of a zebra, and there is another one that the bus is waiting at. It is hard to believe there once used to be a main road where that crossing is! 11. At the surprisingly deserted junction with Shakespeare Street - these (10-19) were taken mid-morning. 12. Looking down Shakespeare St towards N Sherwood St 13. Further down - this bit is essentially one-way as far as the route is concerned. 14. Looking up North Church St from Shakespeare St, this is one lane whilst the building works take place. 15. At the top of North Church St. This road - Burton St - used to be one way down hill, now it is one way uphill. 16. The first of three shots at the Burton St / South Sherwood St jnt. A453 Queens Drive, Nottingham A pre-Warboys sign in Ruddington, south of Nottingham (by the CCTV camera!) Slightly amusing graffiti on a Bump sign! The no-entry roundel has fallen off the sign... Slightly esoteric this one. In a side street in Nottm city centre some of the thermoplastic yellow line has worn away from the brick paving. As the line is incomplete and not T-d off where it essentially alternates from single to double, the whole restriction is only enforceable as a single yellow line. Try telling that to the traffic wardens who keep putting fixed penalty notices on there! I made sure to give the loose line a good kick as i went past! 01. A52 travelling s/b on the n/b footway just south of the A6005 jct 02. and looking the other way... 03. Another view of the A52, nothing really to see here, the road is surrounded by industrial estates on both sides, daft 50 limit as well. 04. Looking back from the same point 05. High up vantage point... photo taken by helicopter! 06. not really. Looking the other way. 07. Approaching the A453. They really need to take the brackets off... You also don't see the [R] signs very often 08. Yes, looking the other way. This road is quite busy, but not late morning especially 09. Approaching the A453 intersection (just by the on-slip). This is where the A453 traffic joins left, crosses the river, then exits right, so frantic lane changing here. A throwback to when this side of the river the A453 was A6019 and the other side it was A648. A remodelling of the ring road about ten years ago hasn't improved it. 10. Looking the other way... it says get in lane, but doesn't say where. A bit daft. Merely serves in practice of an ADS for a junction over a mile away. 11. We're coming off now, here's another view of that impressive flyover. 12. And another. 13. And yet another 14. you get the drift... A453 patch on an incredibly old sign, under the patch it will say A6019.
